Explosion near courthouse in Izmir
There was an explosion in Turkey near a courthouse in Izmir on January 5th 2017. A police officer and a courthouse member did not survive the attack, nine other people were hospitalized. Police took down two assailants the Izmir government has informed us. The Kurdistan Worker’s Party or PKK was blamed for the attack according to Erol Ayyildiz. No one has took the responsibility for the attack. There may have been a bigger attack planned, but could not be followed through with because of the brave police officer Fethi Sekin who stopped the van that was driving by the courthouse that looked very suspicious, that lead to a violent ending where gunfire broke out and he lost his life.
Obama Care to be shut down
As Donald Trump takes office in the U.S he plans to shut down “Obama Care” an affordable care act that recent president Barack Obama organized for his U.S citizens. President Trump does not like the care act and wants it gone when he takes office. Many people agree and disagree with this decision. When citizen using Obama Care was asked what they thought about the whole thing being shut down was not so happy this was their response “I'm not very happy that it's being taken away it has really helped me with the four kids I have, I just hope Mr. Trump has something to replace it.”
Earthquake in Iran
A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck in a rural area in Iran on Friday January 6th 2017. This earthquake hit a village in Southern Iran killing four and injuring four people. The four people killed during this quake were said to be farmers from a the town of Khonj. The quake didn't do much damage to the town just a couple little things here and there that won't be too hard to fix. The town is very lucky to not have much damage done, earthquakes over or near the magnitude of 5 usually cause somewhat of a bit of damage this town caught quite a break.
